Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a counselling session cost?
Sessions cost £60 for 50 minutes, although this can be negotiated this for people on a lower income. We can discuss this at our first session, and the fee for that session will be at the agreed rate.
What happens at the first session?
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, and see how we might work together. Part of the session will be taken up by a short assessment, and - if agreed - we will also use the time to go through and sign the client-counsellor contract that sets out the counselling relationship.
What happens if I miss a session?
If you cancel a session with 24 hours notice or more, no fee is payable. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, the full session fee will be payable. This also applies if you miss your session and do not cancel.
What happens when I want to end my counselling?
Part of therapy is knowing when you want to end your therapy sessions, making the decision and communicating that to your counsellor. If you decide that the time for this has come, I am happy to discuss this with you, and will usually suggest a final session to ensure that our counselling relationship has a clear and positive ending you can build on.
